New Lines Mag, Esquire, Bloomberg, NPR, Bolts 📝 🕵️♀️ 📬
Happy Monday to all you writers & creatives 👋
How is everyone today?
This week, we have 54 writing opportunities from New Lines Magazine, Esquire, Bloomberg, NPR, Bolts, The New Republic, ESPN and loads more. Today’s newsletter includes pitch calls paying up to $800, contract roles paying up to $62 per hour, and full-time positions paying more than $200k!
It’s a pretty long issue today! Be sure to click on the “View entire message” button if you’re reading the newsletter on Gmail as they always clip the email. In particular, there are loads of New York-based full-time roles 👇
Every week I spend hours on end searching high and low for these opportunities. After doing this on repeat for the last 4 years, I’ve gotten pretty good at sorting through all the rubbish and scammy job listings so you don’t have to!

1️⃣ Calls to Pitch
($800+) Bolts | Bolts seeks pitches focused on local/state politics, elections, and policymaking related to criminal justice and voting rights. They publish original reporting, news features, explainers, investigations, and profiles that typically focus on a single geographic area. Default rate is $800 for stories with original reporting, with higher rates available for more complex assignments. They particularly encourage pitches from BIPOC journalists, formerly incarcerated writers, and those with regional expertise. Send 2-3 paragraph pitches to [email protected] including a story summary, reporting plan, and links to previous work.
