($0.50 - $1 per word) American Craft | American Craft magazine welcomes pitches for reported articles, essays, and opinion pieces that celebrate the diversity and ingenuity of craft in America. They're currently seeking submissions for their Winter 2025 “Dream” themed issue. In this issue, they are looking to highlight the dreams and visions of America’s makers, schools where those visions are nurtured, and the imaginations of designers and gallerists who help bring craft into our lives. Stories are generally assigned at 400–2,000 words with pay ranging from $0.50–$1 per word depending on the assignment. Pitch deadline for Winter 2025 issue is May 12. Submit your pitch through their online form (bottom of webpage) with a brief description of your story idea, relevant links, and images if possible.
