(£650 for ~3,000 words / £0.20 per word online) The BREAK-DOWN | The BREAK-DOWN is accepting pitches for Issue #3 - AIRBORNE, exploring the importance of air in climate and ecological crises, its role in environmental history and activism, and its future on a transformed planet. They're interested in original ideas and clear, compelling writing that breaks down complex subjects for an engaged but non-expert audience. Pitch deadline for Issue #3 is December 5. Digital pieces are accepted on a rolling basis. Print pieces pay £650 for ~3,000 words, while online essays pay 20p per word (max £350). More details in the pitch guide.
