Start the new year off right by gifting yourself (or a friend 👯♀️) access to 80+ opportunities per week — sent straight to your inbox. Don’t waste your time endlessly scrolling the internet for pitch calls, writing opportunities, and job postings. Upgrade to TWJN Pro to save hours of your time (and a lot of your sanity), so you can focus on making money by actually writing.
I spend hours every week screening, vetting, and curating these pitch calls and writing gigs, so you don’t have to! On top of that, I try to ensure all opportunities that I share have transparent pay information, so you know which ones are worth your time and effort. You’ll also receive access to our exclusive Pitch Call Database with over 1,400 writing opportunities (and counting!). Plus, if you’re keen to discover even more places to look for work, premium subscribers have full access to check out all of our previous editions in the archives.

1️⃣ Calls to Pitch
($500+) Inkstick | Inkstick is a nonprofit newsroom focused on endless war and all that it entails: the military industrial complex, growing authoritarianism, militarization of policing, borders everywhere, and human rights crises in the US and beyond. They pay about $500 for a standard reported feature of around 1,200 or so words. For essays and long reads, rates would vary significantly based on the nature of the piece, the depth of reporting, and the length. More details in the pitch guide. Send pitches to Patrick Strickland at [email protected] and Allyn Gaestel at [email protected].
