($300) PublicSource | Pittsburgh writers! PublicSource seeks to elevate the voices of people in the Pittsburgh region and bring unique perspectives to their audience. They’re looking for first-person essays about a personal experience in the region or a story that connects to a broader civic issue or solution. Submit pitches here
(~£250) Discover Britain | Sally has two spots to fill in the next issue of Discover Britain – looking for pitches on Sussex (ideally with a quirky/meet the makers-type slant) and a writer for a D Day piece. Any experts in that field, email [email protected]. Deadline is March 19 at 9 am. Rate is around £250 for 1,000-1,200 words.
($250) Columbia Journal | The Columbia Journal is accepting submissions of fiction, nonfiction, poetry, and translation for the 2024 Online Contest! The four first place winners of the Online Contest will be published online in Spring 2024 and will receive a $250 cash prize each. In addition, up to two finalists may be selected and published per genre. There is a $10 submission fee. Submission deadline is March 20. Submission guidelines here
